Born and brought up in Perth, Scotland, I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 1991 with a BA(hons) in Fine Art (Drawing and Painting).
My work is inspired by the Scottish landscape; it's lonely beauty and ingrained history. I paint mainly large oils on canvas and also enjoy using pastels for smaller works.
Photography has become another passion, and although primarily used as reference material for my paintings, it's immediacy of creative thought is of infinite value.
I work from my garden studio in the shadow of Huntingtower Castle, just outside Perth. When I'm not painting, I will most likely be found walking in some quiet, wild space...always with my camera, and my dog.
